Hi there! If you have reached this page then you would have received my Facebook message or an e mail. Most of you probably don't know me, but I am a family friend of Ben and the Todd family. I have known Ben his whole life. My maiden name was Kimberley Agnew.
I have started this blog for one reason and that is to help raise funds for Ben and Bel. As you all probably know, Ben was diagnosed with a very serious cancer just over a year ago. Since then he has endured hours and hours of painful procedures including intensive chemo. Because of this treatment, he has been unable to work for a whole year. Bel has been his number one care giver and now with their little miracle Olivia arriving only a few weeks ago, money is certainly tight. Ben continues to have treatment each day and is feeling well, and he is loving being a daddy to such a beautiful baby girl. Wouldn't it be amazing to help this special little family by reducing their financial worries!
I myself have recently been in a similar situation, being the one sick and unable to work while my husband became full time dad for our two children and caregiver to me. I was blessed to have an amazing friend set up a similar appeal for our family and the response was mind blowing!
The money we received helped our family pay for medical bills, accommodation (we were stuck in Australia for 10 weeks and we are from Christchurch, N.Z.) and all the other bills and living costs that were thrown our way. The feeling of relief and gratitude we felt was indescribable and certainly helped with my recovery.
So, let's do it for team B.O.B! Let's make their life a little easier. I have set up two bank accounts, one in Australia and one in New Zealand. Every cent of your donated money will go to Ben and Bel as a Christmas Present from all that love them! I will keep both accounts open till the 23rd December 2011 and will deposit the money into their account on 25/12/11 Christmas day! So come on, get donating now and lets all be a part of Ben's recovery and make this Christmas one they will always remember!

OK everyone, we are getting up there now.............$950 in the Australian account and $930 in the New Zealand account! I have put an advert in the Ashburton Guardian also, so if you see if, pass it on to someone who hasn't! Yesterday the Ashburton Guardian did a feature on Ben, Bel and Olivia and the BOB Appeal!! Carol and Rusty said their phone had been ringing all day long! I am very excited to say The BOB Appeal is up to Aust $1230 and NZD $3850!!! I think not only will this be the coolest gift for Ben and Bel to receive, but I feel like bursting with excitement at the thought of giving them the good news!!!Thank you all so so much for your donations!!

OH MY GOODNESS!! the BOB appeal is really taking off! We are up to a total of $6080!!!! I am SO STOKED!! The response has been totally overwhelming! Each day I jump out of bed and run to my computer to check the bank balances, its like Christmas every day for me right now! I am just trying to imagine the look on Ben and Bels faces when they hear the news........ Keep spreading the word and if you can and..... listen out to MORE FM tonight at 5.40pm to hear me talking about the B.O.B Appeal!!

Last night at 5.40pm I spoke to MORE FM radio DJ Dave live on air. He was such an awesome guy and was so excited about the B.O.B Appeal. He even got a bit emotional right after our chat about Ben and Bel. I was buzzing at the fact I got to talk about the B.O.B Appeal at such a prime time of day on such a popular radio station and was hoping for a good response.....................well............the B.O.B now has just under $8000!!! Yes thats right, after 22 different deposits yesterday alone, around $2000 transferred into the Appeal account last night!!! This is so exciting and I thank you all so very much for passing the e mail and link around to all you know and of course for your donations. We have 7 days till the appeal closes so lets see how far we can take this thing!!! WOOP WOOP!!!!

I was woken up by a text this morning and guess what it said? "There has been $1580 deposited into your account". Then I checked the Australian account, there is now more than $1400 in that one, so you know what means??? do ya?? do ya?? 10 THOUSAND DOLLARS PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!
Yes that is right $10,000!!!!!! Ben and Bel are going to be receiving this money and any more to come in just a few days time! I am so excited I can hardly breath.............
But I better remember to do that if I want to give them the good news!! So keeps spreading the word and forwarding around those e mails with the link to this blog.

December 21 Update
Things have snowballed in a huge way today. With just 2 days to go the BOB Appeal has hit $11,000! This is a serious amount of cash, and its ALL FOR BEN, BEL AND OLIVIA!!!! I actually feel shaky and get butterflies when I think about the moment I tell them. I really hope I don't cry before I even get the words out! Maybe I should go practice!! You know whats funny, $11k was the same amount that was raised for me when I was sick! But I have a feeling this could go even higher, who knows what tomorrow and friday with bring! Holey Moley! What more can I say about $12,682! I feel like I have constant butterflies as I think about what is about to happen when I tell Ben and Bel. Bens parents Carol and Rusty Todd are totally tripping out on this too, its very cool. We have decided we will tell them the big news tomorrow night so they have a day before Christmas for it to all sink in. I hope Skype works!!! We will record it and post it on this blog, maybe, will see how full on it gets.......

I told Ben and Bel the news tonight! It was one of the coolest things I have ever done I think, just amazing to get such a classic response, they were both pretty much speechless for a bit then they both said they didn't know what to say! SO CUTE!! I told them I knew exactly how they felt as I had been in the same situation in Feburary this year. I told them how they were on the front page of the Ashburton Guardian and how I was interviews on MORE FM about the Appeal. They had no idea which was the coolest part. Once again I would like to say a very heart felt thank you for all the support the BOB Appeal has received and of course all the many donations. I know this will help Ben, Bel and Olivia in many ways and I am really looking forward to hearing about what they are spending it on! I am keeping the Appeal open till New Years eve for people who would still like to donate so if you know someone who thought they missed out please pass that on. Merry Christmas to everyone and thank you for being apart of this awesome gift for 3 very deserving people!

HAHA I forgot to say how much in the BOB Appeal account! Last night there was $13,637 and this morning there is...........$16,491 That is just madness! in the best kind of way!!! woooooohooooo!
